Business Model Branching

How might we reconfigure existing  value propositions and business models, and build up new  ones continuously?

WHY TO PLAY

  • Purpose & Objectives: The game works with models to  systematically reconfigure existing business branches and  prepare and ramp up new ones before too late. It is both  based on resource allocation, the pro and cons in various  ambidexterity models and building up innovation portfolios.

  • Methodology: Boardgame based on visual and tactile  materials. Participants go through a number of steps related  to two principles: working upstream in existing branches and  sideways towards new branches.

  •

  • Experiences (strengths and weaknesses): The game has a  strong core that taps into the difficulty in handling organizational  ambidexterity and so-called corporate immune systems. Ideation  and building up innovation portfolios and discussing resource  allocation in relation to this are a key goal of the game.

HOW TO PLAY

Participants: 4-6 participants at each table. Can be scaled up in  bigger rooms with 5-6 tables and 30-40 participants.
